Following the multi-campus concept as laid down in the Act, the University is setting up campuses at different centres at present. Thalassery campus located at Palayad has an extent of 8.55 acres, where most of the Teaching Departments are housed. A student’s hostel and staff quarters have also been established. The Mangattuparamba campus has 21.65 acres. The University’s administrative wing, with the officers of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations and the Finance Officer, is established. The work of the Guest House and the building to accommodate the Department of Physical Education is completed. The work of the building to house the Department of Information Technology and other teaching departments is in rapid progress. Payyannur campus is 10 acres in area. The new building under construction in this campus is meant to house the Teaching Departments of Chemical Science and Physics. Mananthavady campus has 1.94 acres.In the final stages of acquisition are a 100 acres site at Madaipara in Kannur for the main campus, a 2 acre site at Palayad, Thalassery exclusively for a campus of Legal Studies. The University’s proposal for acquisition of 10 acres in Kannur city at Thavakkara is under consideration of the Government.It is a matter of joy and pride that the University was included under 12 B of the UGC as per F-9-10/94 (CPP-I) date: 03-02-04.
