Kannur Campus Inaugurated

The Kannur Campus of the University at Mangattuparamba, 16 Kms, north of Kannur City was inaugurated by Sri. E.K. Nayanar, the then Chief Minister of Kerala, on 10 March 2001. Vice Chancellor Dr. P.K. Rajan presided over the function. A.P. Abdullakutty M.P, M.V. Govindan Master M.L.A., O.V. Narayanan (President, Kannur Zilla Panchayat) K.R.Jyothilal IAS (District Collector), James Mathew, Adv. A.J. Joseph, Dr. C.P. Sivadasan (All Syndicate Members), Panikkar Balan (President, Kalliassery Panchayat) P. Jayarajan (Senate Member), Dr. K.T. Mary (Principal, Brennen College) and M. Prasanthan (Chairman, University Union) offered felicitations. T.K. Balan MLA welcomed the gathering and Dr. M.O. Koshy, Pro-Vice Chancellor proposed the vote of thanks. Administrative Block with an area of 2336m² constructed by central PWD at a cost of about Rupees Two crores is ready for occupation. The building is located in a 20 acre plot assigned by the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala. The construction work of the first floor of the Administrative Block is in progress. An Academic Block, Guest House, Canteen Building and Library are also to be built on the land this year itself.
