Vision & Mission

Vision

We aspire to seek, create and commit for excellence to learn recognition for Psychology education and service. We look forward to promote ‘The Scientist Practitioner Model’ and a collaborative effort for socially driven action through a synchrony of art, culture and values that are unique to Indian ethos and origin.

Mission

Graduate Attributes

  1. Knowledge and Comprehension of Psychology and its Applications: Graduates should delineate Psychology as a scientific discipline, demonstrate understanding of major concepts, theoretical and practical perspectives, evidence based approaches to psychological intervention and emerging trends in Psychology.
  2. Encourage persistent learning: Graduate should exhibit continuous, committed and critical learning both collaboratively and autonomously for the purpose of understanding one’s own behavior and that of the society in a better way.
  3. Critical thinking skills in Psychology: Ability to respect and use critical and creative thinking, skeptical inquiry and scientific approach to solve problems related to mental processes. Demonstrate a capacity for higher order analysis as well as an attitude of critical thinking that includes persistence, open-mindedness and intellectual engagement. Also include demonstrate creative and pragmatic problem solving.
  4. Capacity to design and conduct Research in Psychology: Proficiency in evaluating and applying basic research methods in Psychology including research design, data analysis, interpretation, evaluating questionnaire, test construction and implementation.
  5. High Interpersonal Relationship and Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with people belonging to various backgrounds as per their needs as well as able to better connect with people and understand their perspectives. Capacity to collaborate effectively, demonstrating an ability to work with groups to complete projects within reasonable timeframes and manage conflicts appropriately and ethically.
  6. An appreciation of values in Psychology: Ability to recognize and respect social, cultural, linguistic, spiritual and gender diversity, using information in an ethical manner, recognizing the limitations of one’s psychological knowledge and skills and display high standards of personal and professional integrity in relationships with others.
  7. Awareness of Social, environmental and global implication of Psychological functioning including ethical implications: A general awareness on diversity of human behavior as well as psychological functioning. Graduates should be engaged, committed and accountable members of local, national, international and professional communities and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of ethical, social and cultural issues relating to Psychology and make professional and leadership decisions.
