Seminar on Dyslexia in connection with the ‘World Dyslexia Awareness Week’

One day seminar on Dyslexia took place on 6th October 2016 at the Seminar Hall, Mangattuparamba Campus, Kannur University. The seminar opened with a prayer at 10.15 am. Dr. S Vinod Kumar, Head of the Department, Behavioural Sciences, Kannur University opened the session by welcoming the entire crew with theme presentaion. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Honorable Vice Chancellor of Knnur University, Dr. M.K Abdul Khader, Dr. V.A Wilson, Syndicate member of Kannur university, Dr. Bindu, Head of the department, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Kannur University, Mr. Asmil Jihad, Campus union Chaireman. The key resource person for the seminar was Sri. Ajith Moorkoth, Director, Vigyan Valley Education Trust, Cochin.

This seminar intended to raise awareness among students, parents, and professionals. The objective of the seminar was to provide a clear understanding about Dyslexia, how it affects people and the importance of assessment and its management.

Open forum came up from the request of the participants to clear their queries. Four panelists headed by Dr. S Vinod Kumar, Head of Department, School of behavioural Sciences, Dr.M.V Thomas, Ms. Amreen Ameer Mailanchi, and Mr.Mahesh, Research Scholars, School of Behavioural Sciences. Series of most relevant issues raised by participants were addressed.
