Course Description

1.AIM OF THE PROGRAMME

The aim of the course is to introduce a Dravidian Language of Kasaragod District which has close relation with Kannada and Malayalam. It will help to sustain the language and culture which opens a bundle of opportunities for further research

2.OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

  • To give academic touch to a language
  • To gain knowledge about a language
  • To sustain rich local language
  • To motivate community research and local research.
  • To expand language skills in practice
  • To promote ethics, values and principles in life by introducing local culture
  • To attain academic up gradation

3.NATURE OF THE COURSE

The course shall have class room teaching only on Saturday

4.DURATION OF THE COURSE

The duration of the course shall be one academic year of 200 hrs.

5.SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The course shall have 30 (Thirty) seats in a batch.
  • The selection of candidates for admission to the course shall be based on the merit.
  • Weightage for higher qualification- ‘Total marks acquired in Plus two + 5% of the total marks acquired in any Bachelors degree’, recognized by the Kannur University.

6.MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION AND EXAMINATION

The medium of Instruction and Examination of the course shall be Kannada
