Annual Athletic Meet 2024

On February 2nd, 2024, Kannur University Teacher Education Centre Dharmasala hosted its annual athletic meet at the Kannur University athletic stadium. Dr. Shijila Sreedhar, Assistant Professor of the School of Physical Education and Sports Science, inaugurated the event, setting the tone for a day filled with sportsmanship and competition.

Dr. Praseeda, the Course Director of KUTEC Dharmasala, addressed the students, instilling a sense of enthusiasm and camaraderie among the participants. The festivities kicked off with a vibrant march past, showcasing students from different houses led by the general captain proudly bearing the flag at the forefront. The flag was ceremoniously hoisted, and General Captain Muhammed Sabique led the students in reciting the oath, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

The athletic events commenced promptly at 9 AM, beginning with the challenging 5 km walk for men and concluding with the thrilling 4x4 relay. Participants showcased their skills and determination in various disciplines throughout the day.

After intense competition, the Blue house emerged victorious as the overall champions, showcasing exceptional teamwork and individual performances. The Red house and Green house secured the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, adding to the competitive spirit of the event.

Nimmya Chandran and Anusree M were celebrated as the best individual athletes in the annual meet, recognized for their outstanding achievements. The title of Best Male Athlete was awarded to Aswin V Sangeeth,showcasing his exceptional prowess in the athletic events.

The culmination of the event involved the distribution of prizes and certificates to the deserving winners, acknowledging their dedication and sportsmanship. The annual athletic meet at KUTEC Dharmasala was not only a display of physical prowess but also a celebration of teamwork, dedication, and the competitive spirit that defines the university's vibrant sports culture.
