The national seminar contemporary Kannada literature held on 2019 march 21, 22, 23 the impetus to modern Kannada literature came from a western style education and Christian missionaries the various goals of this seminar is to provide a platform to discuss various influence of Kannada literature to promote research multiple areas of of literature in this modern era to document the the outcome of the workshop in systematic approach to design the frame to the contemporary literacy approach and to encourage the documentation of the progress of literature. On 21 march 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Dr V P P Musthafa, the syndicate member Kannur University inaugurated the program. Dr A M Sreedharan, Dean Languages Kannur University presided the section. Dr. Sri Krishna bhat retired professor and former course director felicitated the program. Then presented several papers on contemporary Kannada literature in various sessions. Dr. Janardhana Butt also presented a paper on Development of Modern Kannada Literature, Dr. Dhananjay Kumble on Modern Approach of Poems, On Modern approach of Kannada criticism, Gonal Lingappa also presented the paper.The seminar, which was held on 22nd and 23rd, featured papers on topics such as short story, drama, feminist literature, globalization in Kannada and was attended by a large number of people including teachers, researchers and students.
