Areas of Current Research Interest:

  • Structural Studies of Marine Fungal Enzymes
  • Plant microbial interactionsand Structural studies on the putative insecticidal proteins
  • Cloning, expression and pilot scale process optimization of marine fungal enzymes

Contributions to Teaching:

  • Worked as Lecturer at VIT University, Vellore (was teaching B.Tech and M.Tech Biotech students)
  • Worked as Lecturer at MET’s School of engineering, Mala ( College affiliated to Calicut University-was teaching B.Tech Biotech students)
  • Working as Assistant Professor (November 6,2017- till date) at Molecular Biology Department , Kannur University ( teaching MSc. Molecular Biology Students)

  • 3years research experience as UGC-Dr DS Kothari postdoctoral fellow at Prof. MRN Murthy’s lab, Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on the project “structural studies on the marine fungal enzymes”.
  • Three months research experience on the project “Cloning of GGDEF Promoter sequence of Mycobacterium smegmatis to identify the transcription start site under the Guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Dipankar Chatterji, Molecular Biophysics Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore as part of Indian Academy Summer Research.
  • Four months research experience in the R & D division of AVT Natural Products Limited, Vazhakkulam, Aluva (oleoresin industry), Kerala, India.
  • Five years research experience in the field of Solid state Fermentation and Enzymology as part of PhD research work on the topic “Alkaline Protease production by marine fungus Engyodontium album BTMF S10” in the Department of Biotechnology, Cochin University of Science and Technology.
  • Worked as junior and senior research fellow in the project “Molecular cloning and expression of alkaline protease gene from Marine Fungi” sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi, Govt. of India, in the Department of Biotechnology, CUSAT.
  • Eight months experience in the field of fermentation technology at the R&D division of Kerala Ayurveda Pharmacy Limited, Athani, in a collaborative project with Department of Biotechnology, Cochin University, entitled as Process improvement for the production of Arishtams
  • Three and a half months experience in the field of fermentation technology, as a part of the MSc dissertation work Studies on alkaline bacterial endoxylanases at the Biochemical Processing and Waste Water Treatment Division, National Institute of Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR) (formerly RRL), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India
