Profile

1. The first Department of the newly formed Kannur University named as  Institute of English and Foreign Languages.
2. Centre for Canadian Studies, attached to the Department, was established in 2004.
3. The Centre has conducted International/National workshops since its inception with financial assistance from  the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi.
4. The first programme was an international workshop on “Women, Environment and Developments: Canada and India” held from 25March to 27 March 2004.
5. Dr. M. Dasan was the first Director of the Centre. After his retirement, Dr. Josh Sreedharan succeeded him as Director
6. The Department is a centre of  Post Doctoral research work.  
7. Dr. M. Dasan carried out his Post Doctoral research with UGC fellowship in this Department
8. M.Phil scholars are also supervised by the faculty
