  1. Dr. PK Prasadan, Professor , Dept of Zoology, Kannur University is a member of the University Syndicate, Senate and Academic Council and is holding the additional charges of the Director of the Mananthavady Campus. He had been the Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Kannur University and a Member of the State Level Quality Assurance Cell, Govt of Kerala.
  2. Dr Prasadan did his PhD on a CSIR Fellowship at the University of Calicut, India in 1992 after completing BSc and MSc degrees in Zoology. He has also been qualified the National Eligibility Test of ICAR (Govt of India) in Veterinary Parasitology. In 1993, he was awarded the CSIR Research Associateship and carried out post-doctoral research in Bangalore University for three years. In 1996 he joined Mary Matha Arts & Science College, Mananthavady, Kerala and continued to serve till 2008.
  3. He had served Kannur University as Course Director to establish the Department of Zoology and to launch a post graduate programme in Applied Zoology during 2008 - 2012. He has moved back to the parent Institution in 2012 and rejoined Kannur University in 2015.
  4. Dr Prasadan has published more than 50 research papers in peer reviewed international journals, that include Parasitology International, Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences, Global Ecology and Conservation, Biodiversity and Conservation, Journal of Helminthology, Acta Protozoologica, Helminthologia, Protist, Current Science, Journal of Parasitic Diseases etc., apart from various other publications in national journals and contributions to various national and international seminars and conferences.
  5. He has one book, SILENT SHORES, published by Penguin books, to his credit and had contributed two chapters in books having ISBN numbers.
  6. He had completed three externally funded research projects (2 funded by UGC, Govt of India) and has one ongoing major research project funded by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment, Govt of Kerala and one funded by Planning Board, Govt of Kerala.
  7. He is the Chief Editor of a peer reviewed online Journal, Life Science Research
  8. He is a member of the Editorial Board of European Journal of Zoological Research
  9. He is a reviewer of many scientific Journals (National & International).
  10. Presently He is the Chairman of the Doctoral Committees in Zoology of Kannur and MG Universities in India
  11. Is an approved Research Guide of Kannur University; Two of his students were awarded with PhD degree and eight are pursuing research for PhD degree under his guidance.
  12. Is a consultant on Quality in Higher Education and a mentor of many Higher Education Institutions in Kerala.
