• Disseminate scientific Historical knowledge among students and the public.
• Promote advanced level of research and publication.
• Provide opportunity for historians and researchers to share their ideas with students through seminars and workshops organized regularly.
• Inculcate national and human values among students through socially meaningful activities.

Mission

• Ensure an integrated inter-disciplinary approach in teaching-learning.
• Ensure that every student of this department equip herself/himself with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in study and research and to articulate themselves.
• Provide a platform for the documentation, conservation and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of north Kerala.
