Workshop on Understanding the Self for IV Semester students 2024

Yoga for Well being

The first day of the workshop on Understanding the Self "Yoga for Well being" was conducted by Kannur University Teacher Education Centre Dharmasala on 20 February 2024. The venue was general hall of the institution. The programme started at 10:00 am with the arrival of the honourable resource person Smt. Deepthi T K. Welcome address was given by Course Director of the institution Dr. Prasida and the resource person was introduced by Deeshma K (B.Ed. student).The theme of the programme was “Yoga for well being.”

The programme kicked off with warm-up exercises. The instructor along with two students of Mangatuparamba campus pursuing Yoga programme guided through various sitting and standing asanas, with simultaneous explanations of their significance. The instructors emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life and maintaining harmony between the body and mind. The session lasted till 4:00 pm witnessing active participation and engagement from all attendees. The yoga instructors provided detailed explanations of each pose and offered guidance on precautions to be taken. By the end vote of thanks was delivered by Amritha Asokan (B.Ed. student). Undoubtedly, it proved to be a successful even Workshop .

Workshop on Fitness Management

The second day of the workshop on Understanding the Self was conducted by Kannur University Teacher Education Centre Dharmasala on 21 February 2024. The venue was general hall of the institution. The programme started at 10:30 am with the arrival of the honourable resource person Dr. Suvarna Sankar P S, Assistant professor School of Physical Education and Sport sciences, Kannur University. Welcome address was given by Smt.Nusarath T T, Assistant professor KUTEC Dharmasala and the resource person was introduced by Gopika Gopi V (B.Ed. student).The theme of the programme was “Fitness Management”.

Dr. Suvarna Sankar provided a brief lecture on nutrition and fitness management necessary for leading a healthy life and tips for disseminating nutritional and fitness value to children in classrooms. Along with some of her students an energetic aerobics section was given to the students. All of the students participated well in the rhythmic and repetitive exercise section. Vote of thanks was delivered by Athira V (B.Ed. student). The programme ended by 1:00pm and it came out to be a successful one in all means.

Workshop on Understanding the Self


The last session of the workshop on Understanding the Self was conducted by Dr Rajeevan on the theme “From Chaos to Calm:A Journey Within”.The session began with prayer followed by the welcome address given by Dr.Arun K.The programme was presided over by the Course Director Dr.Prasida. Subsequently,Shruti T.V a II B.Ed student introduced the Resource Person.The Resource Person gave us an insight into oneself. For better comprehension Dr.Rajeevan structuredthe talk into different parts. He gave us a clear understanding of the discrepancy between reality and our perception of it. He touched upon various theories which talk about self. He also talked about Biologyand Neuro biology of self.The class was immensely resourceful and ended with the students giving their feedback.
