About the Faculty

Dr. V. Shaharban is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics, School of Development Studies, Kannur University. With more than 23 years of postgraduate teaching experience, she has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership. She is a recognized research guide in Economics and has actively contributed to policy-relevant research, capacity building, and interdisciplinary studies aligned with development, gender, health, and sustainability.

Contributions to Teaching

Dr. Shaharban has over two decades of postgraduate teaching experience in Economics, specializing in Econometrics, Mathematical Economics, Development Economics, and Gender Studies. She has served as faculty for UGC-HRDC refresher and orientation programmes, coordinated interdisciplinary courses, and actively integrated statistical software and other analytical tools into teaching. She has guided more than 50 postgraduate dissertations and is currently supervising 6 Ph.D. scholars.
