Handling classes in General Microbiology, Food Microbiology and Microbial Technology for the Masters programs offered by the Department in Biotechnology and Microbiology. In addition to this, teaching laboratory courses in General Microbiology and Microbial Technology.
The microbial technology research group of Dr. Sabu, work on development of viable Bioprocess for the production of therapeutic and industrial enzymes, bioactive molecules and drug leads, mass production of bio-control agents and bioremediation of pesticides. Marine cyanobacteria, bacteria and fungi are explored for the production of various enzymes and bioactive molecules along with terrestrial microorganisms. Also interested in fermentation and biotransformation of herbal components in the preparation of Ayurvedic drugs.
